emday email marketing event

What are the must-attend email marketing events, conferences and trade fairs?

  • L'EMDay it's France's biggest email marketing eventquite simply. A panel of experts on all subjects closely or remotely related to email marketing lead conferences and round tables over, most of the time, two days. While the first editions were held in Eastern France, more recent editions have taken place near Paris, Rennes, Biarritz... The whole French email marketing community is there, so come along too!
  • Parcel Unpacked Here too, two days to rediscover best tips and practices in email marketingThese courses are taught by the world's top email stars. Deliverability, code, strategy, innovation, design... everything to make you happy! But be prepared for it to be sharp and technical.
  • Litmus Live If you've never attended one of the world's biggest email marketing events, now's the time to sign up for the next session: not only is the event (which lasts 4 days) live, but you'll also have the chance to hear the popes and papesses of email marketing give you their advice, tips and best practices for improving your email communications.
  • Email Academy Mailjet: for just over an hour, experts from the Mailjet solution will be on hand to answer all your emailing-related questions. Good deliverability practices, email content and design, understanding sending statistics... It's not every day you get free advice on these subjects, I'm telling you!
  • CSA Email Summit High-quality topics, networking opportunities, excellent organization... A real immersion in the email ecosystem, provided you travel to Cologne (but it's clearly not that far away...).
  • Email Innovations World The future of email marketing, today... Well, that sounds a bit pompous, but at the same time, with speakers like Justin Khoo (ProofJump and formerly at EmailOnAcid), Dmytro Kudrenko (Stripo), Jeanne Jennings, Jenna Tiffany, I can only understand them... And who knows, maybe you'll get to see (for me) the mysterious Phoenix lights?
  • Unspam I've never had the chance to attend this 2-day conference because Paris-Baltimore is quite a drive... But when I see that it's sponsored by customer.io, beefree, mailgun, mailjet, salesforce, iterable, mailchimp, and actionrocket, I figure I'm missing out. Which may not be the case for you! In any case, you'd better keep a close eye on the opening of the ticket office: admission is limited to 250 participants!
  • Inbox Expo one of the most renowned CRM and email marketing events, with around 50 speakers and over 300 participants... That's saying a lot! Well, I was never able to go, because Austin, in the Massachussets Texas, that's not next door... But you'll let me know! I'm counting on you!
email marketing community and groups

Which Linkedin groups, forums or slacks specialize in email?

  • Email Geeks slack or Emailgeeks chat a slack dedicated entirely to email marketing. Once you've registered, you'll find multiple rooms for different subjects, to help you find your way around the infinite amount of advice and data available: email accessibility, email automation, email b2b, email design, email code, email tools, email bugs, email deliverability... It's amazing that there's so much to say on the subject! Just goes to show, email is far from dead (slack has over 24,000 members to date...).
  • Email Geeks, the Linkedin group : In the same vein as above, but on Linkedin.
  • Email Markup Consortium A community dedicated to improving the user experience, accessibility, performance, consistency and reliability of HTML email. The opportunity to find reports on email accessibility, a ranking of support for HTML and CSS functionalities in email according to opening environments... Emailing innovation, really! But not necessarily in the way you think...
  • Pignon sur mail" Linkedin group : With over 1000 members, this is quite simply the extension of Bruno Florence's blog. Free, non-commercial discussions and exchanges about emailing and CRM. It's all there!
  • Email Marketing Gurus More than 35,000 members to date, and Matthew Vernhout is one of the administrators. I think that says it all... Mic drop.
  • Women of Email Founded by Jen Capstraw (Adobe), Kristin Bond (Girls Scout of the USA), April Mullen (Selligent), and Laura Atkins (Word to the Wise), the association has evolved into a professional network promoting women's leadership in the email marketing community.

  • Rémi Parmentier In video games, there's always a boss at each level, then the Mega Boss at the end of the game... Well, it's the same here: Rémi is a separate entity, with his own agency... Tilt studio in Tourcoing on a human scale (no, no, this is not the address)and yet has managed to rise to the position of an international expert in the little technical things that only he can unearthsuch as the " Fab Four" . I already told you that I was one of his disciples in 2009, in Lille? ("You know my wife?" "Yes chief" "She's beautiful isn't she? " Yes chief "). We are at the point where Mister even warns Gmail about their security flawsthat's to say...
  • Mark Robbins Email developer, CSS hacker as he likes to call himself. Here we are in the Mesosphere of emailing coding. Founder of GoodEmailCodewith the development of various functionalities in the email itself, and Tips 'N Tricks for which the community of integrators owes him a total respect.
  • Aaron Simmonds : Finally someone who speaks English normally (well I understand, it's not the same...) and who also really cares about the HTML code in the email. I really think I'd like to meet him, and we'd have a lot of things to talk about, if I could speak a word of English...
  • Anne Tomlin : Well, on his account, it's a cat show, but damn, it speaks well (in the sense that it even talks about it very well) code (and often with humor)and I'm buying this!
  • Nicole Merlin : I am on my knees before Mrs. Merlin, who showed me the way to Fluid Hybrid codingand which, post after post, informs us on email coding and technology with a lot of humor!
  • Courtney Fantinato When someone is managing the problems of the DPI on Outlookand detects background image interpretation problems on Samsung's App EmailIt can only be a machine!
  • Geoff Phillips If you have never heard of this gentleman, check your Ethernet connection... Period.

Technical innovations

  • Cyrill Gross : For the moment, the only person I have met who is able to develop an 8-page form in an email (yes, you read that right) and that works (otherwise, it would be too easy, I know how to do it too!)
  • Kristian Robinson A great man who literally blew me away with his madcap work on the Faux-Video techniqueBut the guy presents it to you as if it was normal, and says he's not particularly good at CSS... And I'm Demi Moore...
  • Camille Palu and Miah Robertsa.k.a camiah: Ok, I confess, I don't understand everything about this crazy couple's Twitter accounts, nor about their sites by the way. But these Bonnie & Clyde of email coding tried some crazy stuff, really... It didn't work often, not everywhere, but it was often a starting point for new email techniques. And I have a feeling they'll be back in force soon!

Design

  • Fabio Carneiro Fabio could just as easily be classified as an innovator and master of email coding techniques, since he is one of the pioneers of the Hybrid coding technique (a.k.a Spongy Development)but after attending his prez' on the work he does as Senior Product Designer at Booking.com at Litmus Live in London, I was delighted!
  • Elliot Ross : The guy, quiet pépouz, he participated in the creation of TaxiforEmail andActionRocketBritish email design institutions...
  • Paul Airy : Because I believe that the work of typography in email marketingIt is clearly impossible to ignore it...
  • Sam Beddoes : It's simple, Sam's Twitter feed is a directory of human and graphic resources specific to email. You take a tour of his account, and after a while, you'll understand a big part of design in email marketing (well it's not that simple, but it's to make it simple... Well, you know what I mean)
  • Really Good Emails : Well, I'll tell you that when I'm drying on creative, Really Good Emails is always there for me, it's the friend I can always count on, it's the Universal Encyclopedia in 15 volumes from when we were kids and had to write a presentation! Or how to get inspiration from a pre-packaged pigeonhole! 😀
  • Alice Ko : Unluckily, his account hasn't been updated for a while, but otherwise, it's really worth a look!

  • HTML Email Gallery : Well, I don't think there's anything to add here, the name speaks for itself...

Statistics and advice

  • Jordie Van Rijn : Well ok, it's true that it's more on his site Emailmonday.com he's talking stats, but a Dutchman who's into email marketing and has some 9,000 subscribers can't go wrong!
  • Charles Boone : Specialist in emailing as he summarizes on his profile (and I can only confirm)I now call him "Mr. Boone", because When it comes to expertise in all aspects of email marketing, we're talking top-notch!
  • Emailing.biz I had promised myself not to quote any "group" or company, but you have to admit that Emailing.biz is a good French watchdog of everything that is done (or not) in the very special field of email marketing! And then someone tweeting "The Ultimate Guide to a Rotten Newsletter had a good place here (well, if the wink is indeed for the Three Brothers, you'll have to confirm it for me :))
  • Majelice The best thing about this site is that it's full of email marketing stats! And at the same time, there are some great little articles/tutorials to discover!
  • Matthew Vernhout I'm not much of a deliverability specialist, but it's important to keep abreast of all the different facets of the business, and with Matthew, you've done just that! What's more, the guy seems to really like 250ok, so I'm obviously interested...
  • Anthony Chiulli : a funded account at least twice a dayand with dubo, dubon, dubonnet (The famous brand of Vermouth from the '80s, if you don't know... Here, it follows on from the previous twitto, not even on purpose!) And then Anthony is still Marketing Director at 250okI think he knows what he's talking about...
  • Dan Jark : Dan discusses all the subtleties of email marketing, with in-house posts (not retweeting at all) and must absolutely be followed! It has to be! It lands, but then it takes off again! We have to sleep in it! (I am confusing everything, I apologize)
  • Arobase.org : It's aptly named, and it includes all the news of the main email clientsThe doctor tells you, don't move-I'm giving you a prescription-you've got your health card?

Popes and papesses of email marketing

  • Jason Rodriguez : When the man makes all the com' of Litmus, organizes the conferences, and lays you a PDF of over 200 pages on email design and development with 23 videos and 6 hours of step-by-step instructions, you simply bow down, and even if he starts all his sentences with "Awesome..."
  • Chad S. White (not to be confused with Chad White, I've been fooled before) So, to make it simple, Chad is adorable, smiling, intelligent, has a sense of humor, 16000 followers by the way, and he remains simple despite 3 publications of a bible soberly entitled "Email Marketing Rules... He's my lover, don't touch him!
  • Kevin Mandeville Email Designer & Developer, Kevin recently launched a range of #emailgeek humor t-shirts. That alone is a must-see! He is also the co-founder of "The Email Design Podcast" with Jason Rodriguez and participated in the creation of the Litmus builder. Just that.
  • Jaina Mistry You're going to say "Litmus again?! Hey ho, what's up eh, aren't you done bitching yet? Jaina really does deal with email on her account, not Trump or politics, and that's something to applaud!
  • Bruno Florence If you live in France, work in the email marketing world, and don't know Bruno Florence, I'm sorry to be blunt, but the wires are not touching. "If I see you I'll slam on my brakes eh, connections are made!"
  • A good grouch but one I particularly like: Yves-Marie LE PORS-CHAUVEL.
  • And I forgot all about our God! For me eh, in two words eh: above him there's no one, below him there's no one, 'ttends you don't know well Jonathan Loriaux

You may find that this list (not exhaustive) isn't representative of the biggest players and names to watch in the email marketing community? That the French Touch is under-represented, as is parity? Or maybe you've earned your place in this little top? Give me your suggestions, I'm a doggie, yes! Of course, you can also take into account the very pertinent list of email marketing influencers from Brevo on the subject.

  1. I knew about Email Marketing Gurus but I didn't know that Pignon sur mail was on LinkedIn. That's fixed 😉

It would be nice to have a list on Twitter of people you think are must-haves in the email world. Do you have (or know of) any?

Thanks a lot for the links!

  2. Is there a similar list for essential Twitter accounts, in FR and EN?
