At the beginning of December, I called on your creativity to find the hashtag of the year 2014! After the #noreplywar, this year 2014 will be dedicated to emailing optimization. Many of you have sent me your suggestions and it's Marie who found the winning formula: #PimpMyEmail !
#PimpimpMyEmail, because if sometimes a good paint job is enough, often you have to change the wheels, replace the seats, add a GPS, improve the dashboard, ... a lot of work!
Why optimize your emailing?
Half of your turnover is generated by emailing, but you haven't changed your newsletters for 4 years?
It is easy to forget your emailing program in a corner, especially if no incident (deliverability for example) comes to disturb its functioning. However, with a few regular tests, a few strokes of the screwdriver, better fuel, ... it is possible to get much more out of it.
If by optimizing your newsletters, your transactional emails, ... you manage to generate more business (and to measure it), you will soon realize that it is neither time nor money lost!
For this reason, throughout 2014, we will see what techniques will allow us to improve your emails along the following lines:
- The object line
- The ergonomics
- Editorial content
- Customization
- Segmentation
- The quality of the HTML code
- Landing pages
And all the techniques that allow us to test, compare, improve and measure the impact of these different elements.

What about Badsender?
Analysis
We will in 2014 slightly modify the Badsender / Goodsender of the Week concept to incorporate tips on what should be optimized. This will allow us to see regular case studies. We will also try when possible to completely rewrite the Badsenders to make concrete optimization suggestions.
A kit of good practices
Ok, for the moment it's still empty, but as we publish more tips and tricks, we will update this page entirely dedicated to email optimization.
White paper(s)
At least one white paper will be published in 2014 on this topic. But I won't tell you more about the exact content đ
Testimonials
In 2014, we will try to collect testimonials from experts and advertisers (which is often complicated) in order to illustrate concretely what can be done in terms of optimization and especially to demonstrate that it pays off with concrete figures.
So now, PARTICIPATE!
One Response
By the way! For those who are not familiar with the concept, #PimpMyEmail comes from Pimp My Ride, a TV show broadcast by MTV. More info on Wikipedia : http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pimp_My_Ride
