This newsletter is a little unusual in that it announces new features in a new version of the Notion application.
A super-efficient email in the form of release notes. Everything is minimalist and to the point, content is king. The version number, a branding and therefore a ultra-light design very accessible on the message. For each feature: a title revealing the possible action, a very short paragraph (one sentence) to set the tone of what the new feature allows, and finally a screenshot (in animated gif for 2 of the 4 images) to show the result. There are only 2 action buttons, and they're the same: one at the very beginning and another at the end of playback. Once again here the choice of design makes everything completely mobile-compatible, darkmode and accessible without the need for fallback. The only thing to watch out for is the weight of the two animated gifs. Here, brand identity is achieved through the sender's name (founder's first name and surname), the subject (application name with version number), a very small favicon-like logo and screenshots of the interface that immerse us directly in the subject.
